Mumbai: Maharashtra governor SC Jamir has summoned MNS leader Raj Thackeray to discuss the Mumbai University ransacking.
The summons comes a day after Jamir visited the university premises to take stock of the damage.
MNS activists had ransacked the prestigious Mumbai University over the issue of Marathi being an optional subject in the curriculum.
Six activists were arrested for vandalising the property.
The issue had also figured prominently in the cabinet meeting presided over by chief minister Ashok Chavan that took place on Wednesday.
Congress and NCP leaders had expressed their displeasure over the failure of Maharashtra police to halt the violence.
