Maharashtra: SRPF personnel makes obscene gestures at girls, arrested

Nashik: An SRPF personnel was arrested for allegedly making obscene gestures at girls residing in a hostel in Dhule district, police said on Monday. Bhooshan Phulpagare (29), a personnel with the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), made some vulgar gestures at girls staying in a government tribal hostel at Devpur locality in Dhule city on Friday.

The girls informed their hostel superintendent. Later, the hostel superintendent and girls caught hold of the accused and beat him up before handing him to police.

The accused was booked under sections 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman with an intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) of IPC.
