Mumbai: Raaz was a small film starring Dino Morea and Bipasha Basu that went on to become a big hit and brought back the genre of supernatural thrillers in Bollywood.
Now, the makers of Raaz, Vishesh Films, are back with Raaz: The Mystery Continues.
The writer of the sequel, Mahesh Bhatt says, "The film has nothing to do with the first Raaz. It's an independent narrative which has no links with the firsts movie at all. It is rooted in today's India, in the globalised situation. But there is nothing in common between Raaz and Raaz 2 except the title."
Mohit Suri has directed this movie, which stars Emran Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut in the lead.
Emraan Hashmi says, "The fascinating thing is I started working on the first Raaz as an assistant director. It was after this that I got my first break and worked with Vikram Bhatt. The shooting was taking place in Ooty and It was my first outdoor shoot. And it's uncanny that I am starring in a film with the same name after three years."
However, it's the era of slapstick comedies, so will Raaz: The Mystery Continues, break the trend at the box office like the first one? We'll just have to wait and watch.
