One of the best performers of her time, Padmini Kolhapure has teamed up with Asha Bhosle in \'Mai\'.
"I think Ashaji is a surprise package in the film. Looking at her energy and enthusiasm at this age, we all got surprised. We were moved and became more energetic. Her love and dedication for cinema is commendable," Padmini told reporters at a promotional event of the film.
Talking about the rapport she shared with the singer, Padmini said: "She is like a mother to me. I am so happy that I got to act with her... It felt great to work with her."
"She is a great singer and actress... I am sure everyone will like her. I feel if I would not have worked in this film, then I would have lost out an important opportunity," said Padmini, who made a name for herself with films like 'Woh 7 Din', 'Prem Rog' and 'Pyar Jhukta Nahin'.
For Asha Bhonsle both singing and acting are difficult jobs. "I think singing is difficult as one has to have expressive voice and at the same time be in 'sur' (tune). Acting is also difficult as actors have to do physical tasks and deal with emotions," she told reporters.
"I was nervous while doing scenes with Anupam Kher but he made me feel comfortable. Everyone was cooperative," the 79-year-old playback singer said.
