New Delhi: Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, the Malegaon blasts accused, seems to be getting support from all quarters of the saffron brigade.
After the Shiv Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Now the Rashtriya Swayamsevika Sangh (RSS) comes out in support of the sadhvi, saying it will provide legal help to Thakur.
RSS spokesman Ram Madhav says, "This is a government conspiracy to bring a bad name to Hindu organisations before the elections."
The RSS contends that the ATS is acting at the behest of the UPA government to tarnish the image of all saffron outfits.
On the ground though, Thakur's interrogation has led investigators to many links of the saffron parivar.
Late Saturday night, the treasurer of Abhinav Bharat.was picked up for having links with the sadhvi.
With so many damaging revelations, the congress is jumping in to draw the maximum political mileage.
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh says,`` We have evidence that Thakur campaigned for Narendra Modi during assembly elections.''
Ironically, when Jamia Vice Chancellor (VC) Mushirul Hasan decided to offer legal aid to those accused of Delhi serial bombings, the Sangh Parivar had charged him of being anti-national.
Now the same logic has come back to haunt them.
