Chennai: It was a much-hyped event - but the audio release function of Kamal Haasan's film Dasavatharam doesn't seem to have gone down well with a few people.
A Tamil right wing party, Hindu Makkal Katchi, has filed a complaint against actress Mallika Sherawat for not being properly attired for the event.
Mallika's black mini has got Hindu Makkal Katchi see red.
"The Chief Minister is person who upholds the Tamil culture and sovereignty. In front of such an elderly person, the behaviour of Mallika Sherawat is questionable. Her attire is very uncivilized. So we have filed a case in Periamet police station," T Kannan, Organising Secretary, Hindu Makkal Katchi, said
The Hindu Makkal Kaatchi had earlier created a noise over a picture of actress Khushboo sitting with slippers in front of Hindu deities at an event.
The party had also got actress Shriya to apologise after criticizing the dress she wore for the silver jubilee celebrations of Sivaji. But Mallika's colleagues from the film industry have come forward to support the actress.
"I think people want to file litigations where there are more publicity involved because sometimes people feel that you become gold by touching gold," Vikram Bhatt, Director & Producer, said.
"I really don't care about such things. If the actress is comfortable with whatever she is wearing. Then go ahead and let her be. I don't read such articles. I don't care about them-they are too frivolous to actually even pay attention to," Manjari Phadnis, an actress, said.
While Lakshmi Rai, another actress, said, "If the actress is comfortable wearing what she is, why do you have a problem? Let her be."
The Hindu Makkal Katchi is now all set to file a PIL demanding censorship for television.
