When one of the greatest actors of Malayalam cinema pleaded for help to save the lives of nearly 3,000 children suffering from various cardiac diseases, the select audience present at the Grand Hyatt Hotel on July, Muscat, took it in the right spirit.
NRK businessman Mohammedali was the first to offer a helping hand. Mammootty was addressing the gathering at a private function organised to seek support for the charity organisation Care and Share International. Mohammedali assured Mammootty that he will provide financial aid to conduct surgery for one child each every month.
Apart from the free heart surgery programme 'Hrudayapoorvam', Mammootty also requested the NRKs to help make Vazhikaatty, Care and Share’s anti-drug programme, a success. “Actors, including myself, have portrayed several characters displaying alcohol addiction. That might have influenced youngsters to a certain extent. It is my duty and moral responsibility to guide them, I seek your support for it,” said Mammootty.

Mammootty asks for help to save the lives of nearly 3,000 children suffering from various cardiac diseases.
