NEDUMANGAD: Police have arrested a person in connection with the alleged raping of a married woman after promising her a job in West Asia. Dineshan, hailing from Kallara, was arrested by a police team led by Nedumangad DySP K Muhammed Shafi.
According to the police, Aneesh, the first accused courted the married woman through Face Book who was living in Mumbai. She had been to West Asia earlier and on returning to Mumbai she was running a beauty parlour.
The woman had posted in the Face Book that she is longing to go abroad in search of a job. Aneesh decided to lay a trap for the ambitious woman and contacted her through Internet. He told her that his friend Suresh owns a company in Bahrain and if she wants to grab a job there, he could introduce her to Suresh. Aneesh and Suresh were working in Bahrain and had developed a strong friendship there.
When the woman visited her family in Thiruvalla in November, she contacted Aneesh and they decided to meet at Kilimanoor. From there she was taken in a car by Suresh, Aneesh, Manikuttan and the arrested Dineshan to Kallara. The trio sexually abused her throughout the night and then allowed her to leave.
Later the men blackmailed the woman and fleeced Rs 2.30 lakh from her. When the blackmailing got intense, the woman attempted suicide and the issue came to the notice of her husband. It was on his complaint to the DGP, a case was registered at Palode station.
Police said that the accused Aneesh and Suresh were in Bahrain and efforts had been intensified to nab Manikuttan.
