Click to play videoChennai: In a horrifying incident, a man allegedly strangled his wife to death because she refused to have sex with him. Subhash, who was drunk on Thursday afternoon picked up a skipping rope that was lying nearby and strangled Shanti.
According to police, what was more horrifying was that he went on to have sex with his wife's corpse. Subhash, a push cart owner, is now in judicial custody and the police say that he has confessed to his crime.
"He called his wife to have sex with him and when she refused he killed her. He confessed that he had sexual intercourse with her after he killed her. The forensic reports are yet to come," said Inspector, Poonamalle Police Station, N Velavan.
"She was a very nice cheerful lady. But her husband always used to come home drunk and beat her up. That day also, they had a fight and we thought it was the usual fight but we were shocked to know he killed her," said Subhash and Shanti neighbour, Srinivas.
Subhash and Shanti were married for 13 years and have two kids. The neighbours say that the couple used to quarrel frequently because of Subhash's drinking habits.
The Police is still waiting for Shanti's forensic reports but they say they can't rule out the possibility that Subash is suffering from a psychological disorder.
