BANGALORE: A 39-year-old pedestrian was killed after a motorcycle ran over him on Bannerghatta Road near Gopalan Mall on Friday evening. The deceased has been identified as Shivaraj Simpi, a native of Dharwad. He was working as a mason and was residing alone in rented house in Basaveshawara Nagar. The incident took place around 6.30 pm when he was returning home after buying some things. As he was crossing the road, a speeding motorcycle knocked him down. Owing to severe head injuries, he died on the spot, the police said.
Mico Layout traffic police have registered a case and are looking out for the accused, who is absconding.
