Guwahati (Assam): Kanak Gogoi is an Edison in the making, a man who can churn out new inventions like clockwork with seemingly no effort.
He's made everything from a hang-glider to a water-cycle with no formal training in science. But it's his latest innovation - an electricity-generating speed breaker - which is making waves.
Gogoi's idea is simple. A car will be able to generate electricity, every time it goes over a speed breaker.
"I have already sent my claim to the National Innovation foundation for a patent," says he.
The Assam government has shown interest in producing Gogoi's invention on a large scale.
Says Associate Professor, IIT Guwahati, AK Das, "I think this concept has great future."
Despite the fact that the government is taking an interest in the invention, Gogoi still says that inventing is just a hobby.
Gogoi's principles in life are rather simple and that is that all his innovations have to be based on some need.
