New Delhi: A 23-year-old Delhi-based executive miraculously survived after meeting with a near fatal accident in Gurgaon’s MG Road on July 12.
Supratim Dutta was on his way to work in an office car when the driver lost control and hit the barricades put up by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Mehrauli-Gurgaon Road.
The impact was so damaging that an iron rod pierced the car and impaled Dutta, who remained immobile in the car for nearly one-an-a-half hour till his friend reached the spot.
With the help of people passing by, the friend managed to cut the iron rod and rushed Dutta to the AIIMS trauma centre.
It took a six-hour surgery to remove the rod and reports suggest there is some organ damage. Dutta is now under constant observation at AIIMS.
“The iron angle (rod) was removed after a six-hour surgery and his condition is normal. We are regularly monitoring him as some of the organs have been damaged,” head of the trauma centre of the AIIMS, MC Mishra told IANS.
