Manchester: Manchester United have signed Borussia Dortmund attacker Shinji Kagawa for an undisclosed fee. The deal remains subject to a medical and a UK work permit but these remain formalities for the future Old Trafford star.
The 23-year-old had been linked with a move to Sir Alex Ferguson's side more strongly since Chelsea secured the signature of Eden Hazard. The transfer went through on June 5 with Euro 2012 mere days away.
The Japanese international helped win the Bundesliga for the second consecutive year with Borussia Dortmund last season.

The deal remains subject to a medical and a UK work permit but these remain formalities for the future Old Trafford star.
The midfielder, who can also feature as a winger, picked up a metatarsal injury at the 2011 Asian Cup which ruled him out of the second half of his first season at Dortmund. However, the Bundesliga player still managed eight goals in 18 games for the season.
This season the attacker also helped Dortmund win the DFB-Pokal Cup for the third time in the club's history.
