Click to play videoJohannesburg (South Africa): A veteran in the fashion circuit, fashion designer Manish Malhotra has earned a name for designing clothes for Bollywood stars.
Malhotra is in South Africa for the 10th Fashion Forum.
CNN-IBN correspondent Hindol Sengupta caught up with the fashion designer and found out as to how he feels to showcase his collection in the Fashion Week on July 30.
“I am very excited because it is the first time I have done something so Indian-rooted and contemporarily styled in. I may be known more as a Bollywood designer but what I am representing here is India,” Malhotra said.
Paisley is going to be Malhotra’s motif for the collection to be displayed in chikankaari, thread work and baandhini.
He wishes to enhance the collection with a lot of gold accessories and one of his notable designs is a reversible jacket.
It seems like what Malhotra will be presenting for his spring summer collection is “ a riot of colours” in the designer’s own words.
