The evening looked liked a miniature award function of sorts. Those flashing cleavages and designer wears were Amrita Arora, Dia Mirza, Isha Koppikar, Preity Zinta, Rani Mukjherji, Kajol along with those who kept low profile—Karan Johar, Arjun Rampal, Kiren Kher and more.
Kareena Kapoor—who Manish calls his ‘muse’, looked comfortable with sister Karishma and boyfriend Shahid Kapur.
Yet, the man who stole the evening from all was Shah Rukh Khan, not just for his impeccable sound-bytes, but also for obliging fans waiting to catch a glimpse of him.
"Manish is one of the most deserving people that I know in this industry. He's come a long way," said Shah Rukh Khan.
The evening's glam quotient went up a notch when Rani mukherjee walked in sporting her now famous aloof manner. And left without a glance towards her screaming fans..
Though the cameras were not permitted inside, but the buzz was afloat that Rani refused to pose for a picture with Preity Zinta while the two walked in the store. The hatchet between the two is obviously still sharp.
As for the 1800 square feet store designed like a villa, not too many seemed interested. Manish Malhotra's clout with bollywood stars was there for all to see in full glory.
