I took off to do personal things: Manisha

Delhi: Nepalese beauty Manisha Koirala was in the Capital to promote the ongoing South Asian film festival. One the most the most popular actresses of the 90s, Manisha is now rarely seen on the big screen.

But what was the reason behind her disappearing act? "I took a break. This is my 17th year in the industry so I took time off to do other personal things like my spiritual stuff,” the actress said.

The Ilu Ilu girl who once worked with industry heavyweights such as Subash Ghai, Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Mani Ratnam now seems to have run out of steam, her last hit being Company back in 2002.

Though the grapevine is buzzing about the actress contemplating another small screen venture with a daily soap, Manisha is quick to deny it.

“This is news to me,” she said.

But it's not over yet. The good news for Manisha Koirala fans is that she will be back soon. “I have signed a film about stars in the 1930s,” says Manisha.

Here's hoping her comeback makes more news than her personal life.
