Kathmandu: As Nepal gears up to reinstall its Parliament after a gap of nearly four years, Prakash Koirala, father of Bollywood actress Manisha Koirala, along with a cabinet colleague will lose their Assembly seats after session summons on Friday.
Koirala has already been sacked by his Nepali Congress Party, which has initiated action against the two members sending a letter to the Parliament, party sources said.
Narayan Singh Pun, a minister in the Royal Cabinet and Chairman of Nepal Samata Party will also lose his seat.
The Speaker was also forced to resign over his "debatable" conduct during King Gyanendra's government.
Koirala was science, technology and environment minister in the handpicked cabinet formed by the King. Pun was the land reforms and management minister in the royal cabinet.
Nephew of Nepali Congress president and PM designate G P Koirala, Prakash Koirala has established a new party named Nepali Congress (Nationalist).
Earlier, various students organisations of Nepal called for a boycott of Manisha's films citing pro-monarch activities.
