West Midnapore: Top Naxal leader Kishenji admitted on CNN-IBN that his cadre beheaded Jharkhand police inspector Francis Induwar.
Kishenji justified the beheading saying that it was part of guerrilla warfare.
“If there are more such policemen infiltrating the Naxal ranks, they too will be killed,” he added.
He sent this warning on live TV as news came in of Naxals killing two more policemen and taking at least one more hostage.
Kishenji said the kidnapped policeman will be held hostage till all paramilitary action against the Naxal stops.
We are putting a condition in front of the state govt of West Bengal that all the forces, paramilitary forces which are advancing towards the Naxal zones should be stopped immediately. Then the officer in-charge (OC) of Sankrail police station will be released unconditionally.
Meanwhile, chief secretary of West Bengal Ashok Mohan Chakrabarty said, “The main focus as of now is to rescue the kidnapped official(s) and arrest the criminals responsible for the killing and the bank dacoity. The state government's stand remains the same as it was before that those who promote violence and terrorism will be dealt with strongly."
The brazen admission of Kishenji, of not only beheading Induwar but also to killing another intelligence officer, has put the urban intellectual sympathisers of the Naxals on the backfoot.
With the Naxals stepping up their attacks, the challenge for Home Minister Chidambaram is getting tougher.
