New Delhi: The US state department triggers a fresh MAP controversy after posting a new map of India on its official website that reflects the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir as a disputed territory.
Last year in November the state department was criticised by the ministry of external affairs for uploading a map which had projected Jammu and Kashmir as a part of Pakistan.
Although the state dept had promised immediate removal of the map from the website, in a latest briefing the department's spokesperson has revealed that the older incorrect version of the map is yet to be replaced.
US State Dept spokesperson Victoria Nuland said, "We have not yet replaced the maps that we had to take down that were incorrect."
"When we do we'll walk you through the whole thing. One that you're referring to is not a new map on the website," Nuland added.
