Mumbai: Marathi film Deool which released a week after Ra.one is attracting huge crowds in theaters prompting the filmmakers to increase the number of daily shows by 50.
Directed by Umesh Kulkarni and with a star cast like Nana Patekar, Dilip Prabhavalkar, Sonali Kulkarni and a cameo by Naseeruddin Shah, was released on November 4 all over the state with 450 shows daily. However, the tremendous response in the opening weekend prompted the producers to increase the number of daily shows.
The producers said they hoped to cash in on Eid-ul-Zuha holiday to boost their box office collections as cinema halls and multiplexes in Mumbai and rest of the state are teeming with the audiences.
The film highlights the story of a tiny village caught in the complexities of development and the aspirations of the local youth. Deool was earlier screened at Rotterdam and Abudhabi film festivals as well as the MAMI festival in Mumbai.
