However, the trouble for him and the Rajasthan Police are far from over. CNN-IBN has now learnt that four more Rajasthan police officers are likely to be arrested in connection with Sorabuddin Sheikh and his wife, Kausar Bi's, fake encounter case.
Rajasthan's marble traders believe that Alwar SP, M N Dinesh, and one of the accused in the fake encounter case, was the man who single-handedly got rid of the extortion racket in Udaipur.
Says Former President, Marble Association, Udaipur, O M Agarwal, "We feel his intentions were not wrong, his intentions were to punish the culprits."
Adds President, Marble Processing Association, Udaipur, Prabhas Rajgharia, "When he was not here, there were other officers. Many senior people in our marble industry, who are very well placed received threatening calls from some anti-social elements."
So why are those associated with the Rajasthan marble industry supporting this M N Dinesh? Some say that it could be due to Sohrabuddin's extortion racket which affected them as well.
Whatever may be the reason, Rajasthan's influential marble lobby is coming under the scanner for allegedly paying off cops to eliminate Sohrabuddin Sheikh, through a senior BJP leader.
