New Delhi: The 48th Grammy Awards have been announced. And though it brought disappointment to the Indian hopefuls, two popular international stars romped home with maximum Grammy glory.
At the award function held in Los Angeles, two big Indian names in the Contemporary World Music Album category, Anoushka Shankar's Rise and You've Stolen My Heart by Kronos Quartet and Asha Bhonsle have lost out.
The 48th Grammys were considered the one where Indians stood the strongest chance.
It was Mariah Carey's day this year as she bagged three Grammys at the non-televised preliminary level itself.
Her album The Emancipation of Mimi, which won in the Best Album category, is being described as the pop star’s comeback album.
Pop group U2 also won two Grammys - Best Rock Duo or Group performance for Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own and Best Rock Song for City of Blinding Lights.
