Berlin: Mario Gomez is back in Germany's squad for Wednesday's friendly `against France in Paris. Germany coach Joachim Loew announced the squad on Friday, recalling Gomez for the first time since the European Championship semi-final loss to Italy in June following the Bayern Munich striker's three months out with an ankle injury.
There is no place, however, for Bayer Leverkusen striker Stefan Kiessling, whose league-leading 13 goals led to speculation of a first call-up since 2010. Veteran striker Miroslav Klose was selected, along with Hamburg goalkeeper Rene Adler.
Germany, which lead Europe Group C in World Cup qualifying, play Kazakhstan twice in March.
