New Delhi: The markets are volatile and are trading flat due to lack of buying interest in scrips.
At 11:52 am (IST) the Sensex is up 9.33 points or 0.07 per cent at 13951.57, and the Nifty down 12.95 points or 0.32 per cent at 3994.45.
About 1419 shares have advanced, 951 shares declined, and 64 shares are unchanged.
Top gainers on the indices are Bajaj Auto up 2.60 per cent, Ranbaxy Labs up 2.36 per cent, Tata Motors up 1.33 per cent and Guj Ambuja Cem up 1.11 per cent.
Top losers on the Sensex are ACC down 1.31per cent, HDFC down 1.3 per cent and HLL down 1.2 per cent.
Top losers on the Nifty are VSNL down 2.26 per cent and ONGC down 1.69 per cent.
Most active shares on BSE are Unitech at Rs 488.70 with 20,00,896 shares, Satyam at Rs 509.00 with 16,59,265 shares and HDFC at Rs 1,598.90 with shares 4,08,440.
Index heavyweight Hindustan Lever was trading at Rs 213.85 down 1.2 per cent from its previous close of Rs 216.45.
Index heavyweight Reliance was trading at Rs 1,283.05 up 0.11 per cent from its previous close of Rs 1,281.65.
Tech major Infosys was trading at Rs 2,285.50 up 0.57 per cent from its previous close of Rs 2,272.45.
Cigarette major ITC was trading at Rs 174.85 down 1.13 per cent from its previous close of Rs 176.85.
Refinery major HPCL was trading at Rs 278.40 up 0.09 per cent from its previous close of Rs 278.15.
