Mumbai: Actress Karisma Kapoor is looking better than ever and Bollywood's taking note.
Rumours are rife that the actress, who took a sabbatical from films after her marriage to Delhi-based businessman Sanjay Kapur, is set to make her comeback with old friends filmmaker David Dhavan and actor Govinda.
The trio had many number one films to their credit including Coolie No 1 and Hero No 1 when they were at top of their game.
“I have got quite a few film offers and I have also read some scripts and I’ll decide shortly,” said Karisma Kapoor.
Also set to board the comeback express is Sridevi, who is likely to star in the sequel to Mr India that her husband, producer Boney Kapoor has in the works.
The mother of two showed she's lost none of her moves at the recent Filmfare awards where she set the stage on fire with her foot-tapping performance.
But the most exciting comeback story has got to be Madhuri Dixit's, who will light up Diwali when her new film Aaja Nachle opens at cinemas.
So eager were the film's producers Yashraj films to cast the dancing Dixit in this film that they agreed to schedule the film's shoot around her sons's school vacations.
That Indian audiences no longer expect Hindi film heroines to stay home post-marriage, is evident from the red-carpet welcome they laid out for Kajol when she returned to the screen in last year's Fanaa.
Meanwhile, Juhi Chawla continues to make her presence felt in Bollywood by working in smaller, niche films that are able to do justice to her ample talent.
“I have to see things that are suitable to go with my stature and my age. They have to be sensible. I work less but whatever I do I feel happy and enthusiastic in doing,” said Juhi Chawla.
It's not just Bollywood, even the advertising industry is happy to use much-married Bollywood beauties to endorse new brands.
Both Twinkle Khanna and Sonali Bendre are brand ambassadors for leading international timepiece labels, and only recently Kajol featured along with husband Ajay Devgan in advertisements for at least four consumer brands.
This should address any concerns that people may have about the direction Aishwarya's career might take post her wedding next week. It's clear that married actresses are no longer touch-me-nots in showbiz.
