Imran, 29, will be seen as a rugged Haryanvi in director Vishal Bhardwaj's comedy 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola'.

Pankaj Kapoor's last film was the 2011 satire Chala Musaddi Office Office.

Not only was Imran asked by the director to beef up his scrawny physique to play the character and to grow a beard, he also had to get his ears pierced since his character wears ear-rings throughout the film.

Pankaj Kapoor had acted in 'Maqbool' a 2004 film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.
