New Delhi: Vishal Bhardwaj is one director who takes inspiration from the world literature but tries to dilute it down to suit the Indian mindset. The critically acclaimed director has returned with 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola'. The film stars Imran Khan, Anushka Sharma and Pankaj Kapur in the lead roles.

Anushka and Imran are working with Bhardwaj for the first time while Pankaj has given memorable performances in his earlier films like 'Maqbool' and 'The Blue Umbrella'. Imran Khan has the image of a typical urban youth, so his performance as Matru will be under scanner from the very first shot. Similarly, Anushka needs to prove her worth in the film.

The songs and promos of the film have created good buzz about the film but will it be able to pass the litmus test at the box office? 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola' is an important film for Bollywood as well which hardly tries to venture into the rural set-up.
