Lucknow: A day after Rahul Gandhi wrapped up his Jan Sampark yatra, UP Chief Minister and BSP Chief Mayawati put up a massive show of strength to launch her sharpest attack on him. She said he's so scared of the BSP that he's missing parliament to campaign in UP.

Over a lakh supporters came to the Ambedkar Park in Noida to listen to the UP Chief Minister.

And almost immediately, she launched a no-holds-barred attack against the Congress. Mayawati said, "The Congress is worried about the BSP's power and governance."

"Congress did not work properly for UP's development in its 40-year-rule. The Congress keeps on sending CBI to UP several times on some pretext or other", added Mayawati.

But her focus on Sunday was clearly Rahul Gandhi. Over the last week, it was Rahul who was doing all the talking. So on Sunday it was Mayawati's turn to hit back. Rejecting Rahul's allegations of UP being scam capital and large scale frauds in rural employment guarantee scheme and Rural Health management scheme. She dismissed him as a non-serious politician .

She even threatened to block the parliamentary proceedings if FDI in retail was allowed.

The Congress too hit back, accusing Mayawati of losing her grip over the state. Congress Spokesperson Rashid Alvi said, "Every party other than the Congress has looted the state of UP."

Throughout her hour long speech, Mayawati didn't refer to Rahul Gandhi by his name even once. She always called him a prince. It's a part of her strategy to send a message to her supporters that Rahul shouldn't be looked at a viable alternative to her, instead only as scion of the Gandhi family.
