Thirteen people were injured no one died but it was the beginning of the change of a pattern - a pattern to divide India on communal lines. Till then only Hindu religious places were usually targeted.
Within five months on September 8 a series of bom blasts rocked Malegaon 300 kilometres from Mumbai, 37 died and 125 were injured most of them Muslim pilgrims.
On May 18 2007m in the old city of Hyderabad the Mecca Masjid was targeted. A mobile phone triggered a twin blast when nearly 10,000 people were offering Friday prayers - nine people were killed.
In fact intelligence agencies have been warning that terror attacks are likely in this festival season.
Experts believe that after the Mecca Masjid blasts, terrorists were successful in their intentions rioting started Hindus and Muslims clashed among themselves.
And with Thursday's blasts at the Ajmer Sharif the merchants of terror has sent out a stern warning - the common man on the street is not safe in this festival season any more.
