Metro Rail works affects water supply

CHENNAI: Water supply in Alwarpet, Abhiramapuram, Nandanam and Kotturpuram areas will be affected on Tuesday as the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (MWSSB) will be carrying out the work of fixing valves in trunk water main at Anna Salai Teynampet to facilitate construction of the underground Metro Rail Station.
Apurva Varma, MD  MWSSB, said the work of fixing valves in the 900 mm trunk water main at Anna Salai, Teynampet is expected to be undertaken from 9 am to 9 pm on Tuesday.
People can contact area engineer Teynampet (78450-61907) and area engineer Adyar (78450-61911) for arranging water supply by lorry, Varma added.
