New Delhi: The screening of M F Husain's short film at the International Film Festival of India in Goa has been deferred following protests by Hindu organisations.
Husain's film Through the Eyes of Painter was produced in 1967 and had won the Golden Bear Award at the Berlin Film Festival the same year.
Two organisations - the Sanatan Sanstha and the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti - reportedly wrote to Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat against its screening and threatened to stage demonstrations at the venue.
Following this, the Chief Minister's requested the screening to be deferred.
