New Delhi: Former Indian player and captain Dilip Vengsarkar has slammed the touring Australian side for their poor performances in the ongoing series, going as far as to term Michael Clarke's squad as the worst to tour India ever. Australia were beaten comprehensively in Chennai and Hyderabad to go 0-2 down in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and Vengsarkar, like many critics, was not impressed.
"Going by the way the Aussies folded on the fourth morning at Hyderabad (all out for 131 in their second innings in the second Test on Tuesday), one is tempted to ask whether this is the worst ever Australian team that has toured India so far," Vengsarkar wrote in his column in the Times of India on Saturday.
"However at Mohali the conditions might just help the Aussies. Will they show enough spunk to put it across the Indians? A tall order, but in cricket nothing could be ruled out."

The former India batsman believes the Australian captain is the only batsman to put it any effort, and that the others do not have the skill to perform on India\'s turning tracks.
