Islamabad: A mild earthquake rocked the border town of Chaman in south-western Pakistan and adjoining areas in Afghanistan on Monday, a day after Pakistan observed the first anniversary of the massive earthquake of 2005 which killed more than 73,000 people.
Media reports said Monday's quake hit Chaman at 0613, hrs GMT and measured 4.6 on the richter scale.
It caused some walls of the mud houses in the town to collapse but there was no serious damage.
The epicentre of the quake lay in Balochistan province, 500 km south of Peshawar city, said the Aaj television channel.
