Indo-Myanmar border: In Manipur, 30 years after it's formation the political wing of the extremist outfit, the Peoples' Liberation Army (PLA), the Revolutionary People's Front (RPF) of Manipur has invited CNN-IBN for a peek into its training camps.

Somewhere along the porous Manipur-Myanmar border, is the training camp of the Revolutionary Peoples' Party of Manipur and the political wing of the extremist group – the Peoples' Liberation Army, a group formed in 1978 that seeks the secession of Manipur from India. The guns, the military might and training are on full display for the media and so is the desperation to talk about links.

Vice-President, RPF MM Ngouba said, "There were instance where we've helped the CPI Maoist and there are times when we've sought their help. In today's situation there is bound to be interaction between us and Myanmar."

The entire camp seems far removed from the election results in Manipur. This Lok Sabha election saw the Congress win both the Lok Sabha seats. This is the other voice in the state that does not believe in Indian democracy.

Ngouba said, "What we are saying is that we will not be a part of any political dialogue unless the dialogue is on the issue of Manipur's sovereignty.”

Under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act since 1980, the number of people killed in Manipur last year from violence and militancy was 484. Some say that many of these deaths were fake encounters and this show of strength the RPF believes is essential to make its voice heard.
