Millwall: Aston Villa were eliminated from a knockout competition by a lower-tier opponent for the second time in three days on Friday, after John Marquis scored late to give Millwall a 2-1 victory in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
After failing to overcome fourth-tier Bradford in the League Cup semifinals on Tuesday, Paul Lambert's struggling Premier League side had another disappointing night despite going ahead 1-0 through Darren Bent in the 22nd minute. Danny Shittu equalized just five minutes later and Marquis then netted the winner in the 89th for the League Championship club.
The game was stopped for about five minutes early in the second half after home fans started throwing bottles and other objects onto the pitch after Villa was awarded a free kick.
