Mumbai: Get set for the return of the original Indian cowboy, Quick Gun Murugun, on the big screen. The popular Channel V character now gets a full-fledged feature film thanks to his creator, Shashanka Ghosh.

The mis-adventures of this vegetarian Indian cowboy, who is out to settle scores with his arch rival Rice Plate Reddy, had it's music release on Wednesday night in Mumbai and Quick Gun had his audience in splits while talking about his guntastic powers.

Actor Rajendra Prasad, who plays the lead, says, "James Bond will do one variety, the western cowboy will do another variety, but Quick Gun Murugan's guns will speak a different variety. One bullet can kill five villains. Please see the film on the big screen, you will enjoy it."

While Phat Phish Motion Pictures helped produce this wacky comedy, Fox Star Studios India has now come on board to distribute it. Quick Gun Murugun also sees the comeback of south Indian actress Rambha. She play's Mango Dolly in the film - the vamp with the golden heart.

"I am doing a film after a long time, so I'm quite excited, but as of now as you can see my voice is shaking, because I have stage fright," says Rambha.

Quick Gun Murugun, which has already done rounds at the London Film Festival and the New York Asian Film Festival, is scheduled to release on August 28.

And if this was not enough, the filmmakers have already planned a sequel, The Good, Bad and the Idly!

So as Quick Gun Murugan says, Yenna Rascala, don't forget to watch it!
