Chennai: The Name is Rajinikanth - it’s a title with a punch, just like the dialogues in the superstar's movies.
But that's what was most missed at the release of Rajinikanth's biography. The superstar surprisingly didn't turn up but the author - Gayathree Sreekanth - had an explanation ready.
"No, it was not unexpected. I met him yesterday and he was like, ‘you people will praise me sky-high when I'm there, so it's better that I'm not there’,” Sreekanth said.
But to make up for the superstar's absence was his daughter Soundarya Rajinikanth who too is making an animation film on her father.
"It's overwhelming. He's a great man. I'm really glad that someone's taken the effort. So I'm sure there'll be much more but I wish this venture all the very best,” she said.
The book offers a lot of personal tidbits about Rajinikanth including his interest in politics, his spiritual side and even talks about his early romances - like how he was turned down by a fair woman, because he was too 'dark’.
"I've had to dig out a fee details. I'm glad I did it. I hope you have a great read,” she said.
