New Delhi: The Delhi police on Friday suspended the traffic constable accused of raping a 12-year-old girl on Friday. He was also remanded to 14 days judicial custody.
The girl was allegedly raped by traffic police constable Sanjeev Rana and his accomplice on Thursday.
Rana along with property dealer Naresh Mann allegedly abducted Asha (name changed) from Shahbad Dairy locality around 1430 hrs (IST) on Thursday.
They then raped her before dumping her at the same spot. “They shut my mouth and told me if I make any noise, they will kill me,” the girl recalls.
Her family says police were immediately informed. “My daughter came crying. I asked what happened and who the men were. Then, I called the police,” says her father Radhe Shyam.
A medical test conducted on the victim confirmed rape.
