New Delhi: If you haven't seen the much talked about Aishwarya-Hrithik kiss in Dhoom 2 yet and don't want to shell out the money for a ticket just for those few seconds, there is a way out.

Just log onto youtube.com and search for Dhoom2, and the much-hyped kiss which was kept under wraps is now available for free viewing.

And if you aren't too finicky about video and audio quality you can watch the full film online too on hot-desi.com where a pirated copy of the film is up for public viewing.

Experts believe this trend of online piracy could prove to be the new monster the film industry will have to deal with.

“What is a trickle now will become torrent soon. So, this is the time when the film producers’ guild must take some immediate action. They should look into these things that it cannot be taken for granted,” says a cyber law expert, Vakul Sharma.

Sites like hot-desi.com have a database of recent films, which can be viewed with a membership of as low as $5 per month. For those who are patient, they can catch most of these films for free on youtube.com where they are uploaded in small segments.

One of this year's biggest hits Rang De Basanti is available in nine parts of around 15 to 20 minutes each, but filmmaker Rakeysh Ompraksh Mehra isn't really worried.

“I only think it will open many doors and windows. I would not look at it as films being shown and me not getting the revenue. I think that’s looking at it with blinkers,” he says

Experts believe brining up the issue of online piracy with companies like Google Inc., which owns youtube.com would take serious initiative at an international level as most of these clips are uploaded on servers abroad. But as of now like filmmakers back home believe that the quality of the clips and speed it takes to view them will act as a deterrent in the spread of online piracy.

“If the quality is bad then it would not. If the quality is good and its real fast upload then it would effect video sells to some extent,” says filmmaker Dibakar Bannerjee.

But with high speed broadband connections becoming a regular feature in most homes in the metros, it may not be long before online piracy begins to make a dent on the box-office collections of new releases.
