Karimganj: The body of Pritam Bhattacharjee, a PHD scholar from Karimganj missing since July 9, has been found in a badly mutilated condition in Bihar, police said in Karimganj on Monday.
The body of the 25-year-old was found late on Sunday night near the railway track at Bhagalpur with Bihar Police saying the assailants killed Pritam and dumped his body.
The scholar, who had boarded the Assam-Avadh Express from Guwahati on July 8, went missing from Naugachia Station the next day.

The assailants had snatched his laptop and camera during the two-minute halt at the station following which the youth chased them on the platform. He had been missing since then.
The youth's family members have gone to Naugachia to get the body back to Karimganj, the police added.
