Mkts open with gap up; bank, power, cap good stocks up

New Delhi; The markets opened with good gap up on Friday on the back of strong cues from the Asian peers. Power, cap good, bank and IT stocks were looking smart in the early trade. Market breadth was positive and the volume was high.

Asian markets moved higher today. Japan's Nikkei gained 1.19 per cent or 184.71 points at 15,698.45, Hong Kong's Hang Seng rose 0.31 per cent or 89.45 points at 28,571.99, Taiwan's Taiwan Weighted surged 1.33 per cent or 112.05 points at 8,559.08, Singapore's Straits Times advanced 0.95 per centor 32.91 points at 3,511.13 and South Korea's Seoul Composite shot up 1.35 per cent or 25.37 points at 1,902.93.

Market cues:

  • NSE F&O Dec series begins with Rs 77,353 cr Open Interest vs Rs 69,558 crore in November.
  • FIIs net sell $111.6 million in equity on November 28.

  • SEBI makes amendments to disclosure, investor protection guidelines.
