Hundreds took pride in punishing him publicly and no one complained, not one even the cops who stood just meters away.
The residents of the area also tried to justify the punishment.
"He steals. He stole the generator and even the wires from the poles and sold it," a resident of the area says.
This is not an isolated incident of mob justice in Bihar. Several offenders have been beaten to death in the recent past.
Mob justice only highlights people's eroding faith in law enforcing agencies leading them to taking the law in their own hands.
