Mockery of Pak law, banned terror groups meet

CNN-IBN

New Delhi: Doubts abound whether Pakistan is really cracking down on terror outfits that operate from its soil like it says. In what's a wake up call to the Pakistani establishment, 12 militant groups including those banned have met publicly in Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

Apparently, the meeting had been called by the United Jehad Council included the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), the Jamaat-ud-Daawa (JuD) and the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen.

They met in a blatant show of strength in public for the first time since the Mumbai terror attacks. They called on the government to release 150 imprisoned Jamaat and Lashkar activists and to lift the ban on the Jamaat. But even as the militants met, authorities made no attempt to stop the meeting according to observers.
