Academy Award winning music composer A R Rahman spoke exclusively to CNN-IBN in a heart to heart conversation about his moment of glory and those who inspired it.
CNN-IBN: Did they get your name right the second time?
A R Rahman: Yes, they did.
CNN-IBN: What was one thought that bombarded your mind when your name was announced the second time?
A R Rahman: There was absolute relaxation, I being a philosophical person started thinking about choosing love over life, optimism and faith.
CNN-IBN: You mentioned a lot about your mother on that stage. She's been the pillar of support all your life.
A R Rahman: Yes, that is because everyone wanted me to meet my mother. And I took her along with my wife and sister. It was a great experience for her more than me because she had helped me all along in making the choice of my career. She helped me choose music as my career over other things, else I would have been an engineer.
