New Delhi: The prices of petrol ,diesel, kerosene and LPG will now be revised every month. This is in line with the Cabinet decision taken on June 20, allowing the oil companies to revise the prices of petroleum products every month.
In order to avoid speculative activity, the government has advised oil companies to ensure the revision date is not predictable.
The government has also advised that the revision should be in line with every one dollar change in global prices.
The prices will be reviewed by comparing them to the preceeding month's figures. No separate government clearance would be required for such price revisions.
Earlier, on June 20, the government had allowed monthly revision of petrol, diesel, LPG and kerosene prices.
However, it was made clear then that the retail prices of these products will change only on every $1 rise in world prices.
