Security around the Banjara Hills branch of Alliance Francaise is likely to be tightened after a request from the Consulate of France in Bangalore reached AP police in wake of the objectionable cartoons of the prophet being published in a French magazine, evoking strong condemnation from the Muslim community. Sources said though there was no specific input to suggest protests near the institute, police has decided to post a picket there. A few hundred French nationals live in Hyderabad. “Some of the French who are on a visit are being informed by the staff of the respective hotels about the developments in France but there is no specific alert as such for them,” sources said.
