Meera Vasudevan is all thrilled to make her debut in Malayalam through Tanmatra opposite Mohanlal.
An offbeat entertainer directed by Blessy, Meera plays the mother of two children in the movie.
A visibly thrilled Meera Vasudevan, expresses her joy in being part of such a big team. ''Making debut with such a seasoned team provides great comfort. Tanmatra has brought the best out of me'', she says.
In a quick chat, she shares her experiences working in the movie.
How did you bag the role in Tanmatra?
A few months ago, I had been to a workshop in Chennai where director Blessy was also present. One look at me, he was convinced that I should play the heroine in his forthcoming movie. I had no knowledge of Malayalam cinema then. I was thrilled when he confirmed me as the heroine for his movie. Only later I came to know that Mohanlal plays the hero in it.
Did you expect to land such a high-profile project?
No. Director Blessy is a household name in Kerala. Especially after his Kazcha which threw light on Gujarat earthquake victims, he was acclaimed by everyone in the industry. I was thrilled when he cast me as his heroine. More over to be part of a team that comprises Mohanlal made me really happy.
Comment on your experiences working with Mohanlal?
He is a versatile actor. It has been an amazing experience to work with him so far. One can really learn a lot working with him as he helps you in getting your emotions right on the screen. A couple of more offers in Malluwood are in the pipeline now thanks to acting with him.
Forthcoming projects?
A couple of offers featuring few big names are in the pipeline. Nothing is confirmed as yet. But I am keen to do good roles here.
