Ahmedabad: Cracks appeared in the Multiplex Owners Association of Gujarat on Friday as many of them have decided to go ahead with the screening of Nandita Das directed film Firaaq based on 2002 riots expect two.

"Adlabs, Cinemex, City Pulse and Inox groups have agreed to screen the movie Firaaq," films Gujarat Distributor Vinay Chowksi said.

"Just two multiplex groups of Wide Angle owned by Manubhai Patel - President of Multiplex Owners' Association - and City Gold are not going to screen the film as of now," Chowksi added.

"The reason that they are not screening the film is due to some financial transactions problems with us. If the problem is resolved by Friday night, then they will also screen the movie," Chowksi added.

Manubhai Patel had earlier said, "Multiplexes in Gujarat will not screen the movie due to the financial problems with distributors".

Owner of City Pulse group Ashok Purohit said, "We will screen the movie in our multiplexes. We do not have any financial problems with distributors regarding the movie".

Firaaq will have nation-wide launch on Saturday.

Critically acclaimed Firaaqs' script is set over a 24 hours span, a month after the 2002 carnage.
