New Delhi: China's gearing up for the Olympics and how. Apart from building some impressive stadia, there's also an awesome mode of transport to get you to the venue.
China has built the fastest rail service on the planet. At 350 kilometers per hour, the trains will rocket from Beijing to Tianjin in just 30 minutes. They are China's latest salvo in the run up the Olympics.
Railway Ministry Spokesman, Wang Yongping says, "This is the first high-speed rail link in China. The techonology it uses is advanced not just for China but for the entire world. And it is very comfortable and quiet."
It took $3 billion to put a track in place for the train, but a ride costs just $10 - not bad for luxury that puts most airliners to shame, yet ferries 600 passengers in one go. China's coming out party is finally on its way.
