London: You have probably seen London’s Hungerford Bridge a million times even if haven’t stepped out of the country. Think Salaam-e-Ishq and you will know what we are talking about.

Hungerford Bridge has featured along with many other landmarks in London in several Bollywood films.

So, if you are a Bollywood buff visiting London then now exists a Bollywood movie map that will guide you through more than 30 different locations where Bollywood stars have left their mark.

Our next stop is Piccadilly Circus – remember those scenes from Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham and Dil Diya Hai, well this is the spot.

The map highlights not only film locations but also gives specifics on which films were shot there, with details of the nearest tube station.

So, armed with this map you could spend a day following the Bollywood trail!

Be it the Big Ben or Piccadilly Circus, the London eye or Trafalgar Square, London has seen a fair share of Bollywood movies in the making.

Bollywood is the largest film industry in the world with budgets as flamboyant as its dance numbers, so it’s no wonder that London is now a popular destination for Indian filmmakers. London, for its part, is cashing in too.

“The UK film council also encourages filmmakers. It sees the business opportunity and the business that Bollywood films bring. It is also a good opportunity for the creative staff who get jobs and also boosts tourism,” Business Head, Adlabs Films, UK, Pranab Kapadia said.

For the filmmakers, the British advantage is not just the visual appeal it’s also the opportunity to tap into the technical expertise available. The pleasant weather in the summer and better crowd control make shooting more convenient and controlled.

So, as the romance continues between London’s landmarks and our Bollywood films, we head for our last stop which is Waterloo Station, which you should look out for in the soon-to-be released film Jhoom Barabar Jhoom.
